To help new undergraduates and postgraduates integrate into university life, Lingnan University has organised a series of orientation activities, and on 7 September the Office of Student Affairs hosted the New Student Orientation (NSO) Campus Life Carnival 2023 at Kin Sun Square and Wing On Plaza, where an enthusiastic audience numbered over 1,000 students and parents.

The carnival kicked off with a traditional Chinese lion dance, and the Lingnan University Lion Dance and Martial Art Team’s agility made that one of the highlight student performances.

Prof S. Joe Qin, President of Lingnan University, visited the activity booths to meet students, and Wan, a freshman, told him she had loved lion dances ever since she was a child, and joined the lion dance team as soon as she got to Lingnan, so she is grateful for President Qin’s support for the activity.

It aims to promote national education and to help students develop a sense of belonging to the country and enhance their sense of national identity.
