Lingnan student wins Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Public Administration Data Analytics Contest 2023

Final-year undergraduate student Chen Nuo from the Public Management and Smart Governance programme of the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at Lingnan University excelled in the recent Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Public Administration Data Analytics Contest 2023 (University Division). Delving into the topic of “Vulnerable Public Housing Community During the COVID-19 Epidemic: Evidence from Sham Shui Po District”, Chen won Hong Kong’s local contest, and was second runner-up in the Greater Bay Area.

 

This annual contest is jointly organised by the Centre for Digital Governance of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, the Department of Public and International Affairs at City University of Hong Kong, and the Centre for Data Science, University of Macau, with over a hundred teams of predominantly postgraduate students from China and Hong Kong’s leading universities competing this year.

 

It recognises students’ outstanding data analysis skills and in-depth knowledge of data application in public administration and policy analysis to address the evolving challenges and policy needs of the digital economy and society.
