Alumni Homecoming 2024: Back to U, Back to Youth!
Lingnan University hosted its annual two-day, one-night signature event, Alumni Homecoming 2024 from 27 to 28 July, warmly welcoming alumni and their families back to campus to reconnect and strengthen bonds with both old and new Lingnanians. The theme was "Back to U, Back to Youth", and over 270 alumni and their guests made this year's Homecoming a grand and memorable occasion.
The exciting two-day programme featured a diverse line-up of activities: the Science Unit hosted a workshop titled "Bug Wars against Food Waste: Sustainable Organic Food Waste Management", and Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School held a Coffee Workshop. Other interesting classes and workshops included AI table tennis, Indian henna art, and various handcrafts.
One highlight was the Community Booth at Skylight, which encouraged engagement with non-governmental and social welfare organisations. We should like to thank SideBySide, the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, and Hong Chi Association for their support. Their booths showcased a range of products, from coffee and tea to handicrafts. Tuen Mun District Health Centre, operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, set up a mobile van for health screenings.
Participants were able to meet Prof Raymond Chan Hon-fu, Vice-President (Academics) cum Provost, who provided updates on the University's latest developments. In the evening, a Chinese dinner at Lingnan Chinese Restaurant was followed by an indoor campfire game at the Jackie Chan Gymnasium, which ended with a sweet soup as people reconnected with old friends and reminisced.
