The many interactive experiences of Lingnan Discovery Day for Undergraduate Admissions attract students and parents from Hong Kong and beyond
A number of school groups come to Lingnan Discovery Day.
Lingnan University hosted its Lingnan Discovery Day for Undergraduate Admissions on 2 November 2024, providing secondary school students, teachers, and parents with valuable insights into the University’s diverse learning opportunities. A wide variety of talks, workshops, and interactive activities offered an immersive experience in all the faculties and schools.
The day began with an admissions talk, explaining to prospective students how to join Lingnan, and describing its unique liberal arts education. In addition to the latest information on programmes and entrance requirements, attendees were told about the many world-class, global learning opportunities available, including exchange programmes, internships, and service-learning, which all stress Lingnan’s commitment to providing a broad-based and internationally orientated education.
Echoing Lingnan’s motto “Education for Service”, one of the talk’s highlights concerned the successful careers of esteemed alumni, many of whom have made a significant impact in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Their achievements showed listeners what an exciting range of careers and accomplishments a Lingnan education can lead to.
Visitors were able to see Lingnan’s close teacher-student relationship first-hand, as prospective students and their parents had a chance to meet and speak with professors from different faculties and schools. Student Ambassadors welcomed guests warmly and enthusiastically, demonstrating how Lingnan develops well-rounded individuals with a whole person education.
