Lingnan University Forum for high school principals attracts more than 100,000 online views

On 11 and 12 March 2025, Lingnan University organised a University Forum “The Future of AI in Education: Cultivating Excellence in the Digital Age”. Over 30 principals, members of education management, and academic experts from prestigious high schools in eight provinces and municipalities—Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Shandong, Guangxi, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Sichuan—gathered in Hong Kong to discuss opportunities and challenges in AI-driven education. The forum was livestreamed via Lingnan University’s WeChat, Weibo, and other channels, attracting over 100,000 views online over two days.

The forum focused on Lingnan University's cutting-edge achievements in the integration of AI with education, and how to cultivate talents that society will need. Prof S. Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science; Prof Raymond Chan Hon-fu, Vice-President (Academics) cum Provost and Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor of Scientific Computing; Prof Xin Yao, Vice-President (Research and Innovation) and Tong Tin Sun Chair Professor of Machine Learning; and Mr Ernest Chan Chi-man, Vice-President (Administration); Prof Sam Kwong Tak-wu, Associate Vice-President (Strategic Research) and J.K. Lee Chair Professor of Computational Intelligence; and Prof Bradley R. Barnes, Interim Associate Vice-President (Global Affairs) cum Director of Global Education, attended the forum. Several faculties and offices, including the Faculties of Arts, Business, and Social Sciences, and the Schools of Data Science, and Interdisciplinary Studies, as well as the Office of Global Education, the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of Service-Learning, and the Registry described the digital development of courses, student exchange opportunities, student support services, how they enable innovation and entrepreneurship, and provided admission information.
