Lingnan's elite student-athletes compete in the 15th National Games, 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and 9th National Special Olympic Games

This year, eight Lingnan student-athletes proudly represented Hong Kong, China, at the 15th National Games, and the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games.
Our elite student-athletes - Head Jaden Li, Lam Siu-wai, Ng Sum-lui, Phoebe Tung, Wong Hong-yi, Yeung Cho-yiu, Yuen Wing-kei and Ng Chi-hang - competed in 17 events, including Road Cycling, Track Cycling, Tennis, Rowing, Taekwondo, Para Table Tennis, and Boccia. This is the first major sporting event co-hosted by Hong Kong, and provided a perfect platform for Lingnan's athletes to excel.

Rowing – Men's Double Sculls (M2X)
"Having Hong Kong on the back of my rowing suit fills me with so much pride. it makes me feel that whenever I’m on the start line, I’m borrowing the strength of everyone in Hong Kong who’s rooting for me. It’s really a surreal experience to feel that much love and support from so many people.
I’ve received so much support from Lingnan. I was taken aback at the extent of their helping hand - from financial support in terms of scholarships, educational support with professors curating special homework packages to fit my needs, and even physio support in case I am injured. Lingnan has given an amazing answer to every question I’ve asked them. "
Lam Siu-wai (Sports Coaching and Event Management, Year 3)

"Every time I wear the team uniform, I do my best to make Hong Kong proud. Regardless of the outcome, I give my all in every match. This competition is an invaluable learning experience, allowing me to face top competitors and recognise the importance of both mental resilience and technique. I’ll adapt my training to become stronger.
I’m grateful for the understanding from the university’s consideration, and that my professors, allowing me to pursue my dreams without worrying. I’ll keep persevering, seizing for every opportunity with hard work and determination!"


Ng Sum-lui (Sports Coaching and Event Management, Year 3)
Cycling – Men’s Road Race
"I’m very glad to be able to represent Hong Kong at the National Games. This experience was truly special - —racing across Hong Kong's landmarks, and including especially the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Lingnan not only provides academic support but also offers physiotherapy assistance, attending to address my previous injuries while I prepared for the National Games. In the future, I hope to compete in next year’s Asian Road Championships and also the Asian Games, with better improved results."
Phoebe Tung (Sports Coaching and Event Management, Year 3)
Cycling – Women’s Track Cycling
"I’m grateful to my head coach for believing in me, abilities and giving me the opportunity to compete! During the competition, I closely observed the strengths of my opponents, and hope to gradually incorporate those insights to improve my own performance.
Lingnan also provides flexible class schedules, which help reduce my academic pressure, and allow me to concentrate on preparing for the National Games. In the short term, my goal is to achieve a top-six finish at the 2026 Asian Track Cycling Championships!"


Yeung Cho-yiu (Sports Coaching and Event Management, Year 3)
Cycling – Women’s Track Cycling
"I’m incredibly proud to represent Hong Kong at the National Games, and this is my first time competing in a major event on home soil. Hearing the cheers and enthusiastic support from the people of Hong Kong has truly moved me.
This experience will also teach me learn how to manage pressure and anxiety in future majorscale competitions. My goal is to achieve good results at next year's Asian Track Cycling Championships and the Asian Games."
