Awards Presentation Ceremony 2026 awards over 950 scholarships to support students' holistic development

Lingnan University’s scholarship award ceremony, organised by the Office of Student Affairs, on 30 March was attended by 230 participants, including Prof S. Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science; Prof Raymond Chan Hon-fu, Vice-President (Academics) cum Provost and Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor of Scientific Computing; senior university management, donors, and faculty members. The University has given more than 950 scholarships totalling approximately HK$27 million to 687 students, recognising their notable academic and personal achievements.

Seemi Nisar, a final-year student from the Department of Economics, was selected for the “Lingnan Education Organization Ambassador Programme - The Most Distinguished Student of the University Award”, and she said how proud and honoured all the awardees are. She thanked the University and the donors for their guidance and generosity, and said that Lingnan has given her a second home where she feels inspired and supported, and empowered to pursue her future ambitions.

Titus Chan Ho-chuen, a Year 2 student from the Department of Philosophy, received the “Dr and Mrs James Tak Wu Awards for Outstanding Service (Student Award)” in recognition of his valuable services to the community. Titus runs several AI start-ups promoting philosophical and cognitive critical thinking. After lectures, in his free time he works with the elderly and children in need, demonstrating his commitment as a volunteer to applying knowledge for the benefit of the whole community.
