Start From Me: Sustainability Competition co-hosted by LU and Nanjing University promotes sustainability education and initiatives

Under the support of the Jiangsu-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance Open Bid Funding 2022/23, LU’s Science Unit organised the virtual Start From Me: Sustainability Competition in collaboration with the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, Nanjing University this May.

 

Over 10 teams from both institutions submitted proposals addressing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals through themes of new electric vehicles, sustainable herbs, reusable tableware, and alternative reality games. After consultations and trainings, selected teams with outstanding project ideas were granted start-up budget to execute their projects.

 

Winning teams will receive coupons and prizes amounting up to HK$3,000 each for their creativity to promote sustainability.

 

Over a hundred of Lingnan students attend the hybrid seminar on the future of plastics delivered by Prof Ngai To, Professor of the Department of Chemistry of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
