Building bridges through innovation: President Qin’s strategic visit to Jiangsu

From 5 to 7 May, Prof S. Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science at Lingnan University, participated in the 3rd Jiangsu-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Cooperation Salon, "Fusion Development, Sci-Tech Innovation for the Future", organised by Nanjing University, the Federation of HK Jiangsu Community Organisations, and Lingnan University, and delivered a keynote speech.
Notable attendees included Mr Henry Tang, Standing Committee Member of the CPPCC National Committee and Founding President of the Federation of HK Jiangsu Community Organisations; Mr Zhao Yan, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province; Prof Tan Tieniu, Chair of Nanjing University CPC Council and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Mr Yiu Mau-lung, CPPCC Member and President of the Federation of HK Jiangsu Community Organisations.

During the Salon, President Qin held productive discussions with Jiangsu provincial officials and representatives from the education and technology sectors, seeking new partnerships between academia and industry in Jiangsu and Hong Kong. He met with Prof Sun Changyin, President of Anhui University, to discuss opportunities for promoting inter-university cooperation.
President Qin also signed a strategic collaboration agreement on behalf of Lingnan with Nanjing University, and visited the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
