Issue No. 198 Oct 2026

Non-local students arriving in the Hong Kong SAR for the first time often face unfamiliar surroundings. The Lingnan University Host Family Scheme builds cross-cultural bridges through a range of exchange activities, enabling students to form genuine friendships with their host families. This academic year, 27 university staff members have warmly volunteered as host families, successfully pairing up 45 non-local freshmen. Through activities including a succulent bonsai workshop and a Dukling sightseeing tour, the Scheme hopes that both parties will experience a sense of family-like care and create lasting memories together.
