Lingnan Chronicle introduces a series of celebratory events on the University’s Golden Jubilee

The latest issue of Lingnan Chronicle records a series of major events in celebration of Lingnan’s 50th Anniversary of re-establishment in Hong Kong.  It also covers our recent recognition by QS Asia University Rankings 2018 as the top 100 Asian university, which confirms the University’s achievements in the past five decades.

Lingnan’s staff and students have always been contributing to society through original research.  In this issue, Prof Annie Chan Hau-nung, Associate Professor of Department of Sociology and Social Policy, shares with us her commitment to Lingnan family as well as dedication in gender studies.  Another interesting story comes from Prof Mike Ingham, Associate Professor of Department of English, who adopts a virtual platform “Second Life” to engage students in creative virtual mini-performances that enhances knowledge transfer and his teaching of English.  Our new faculty member Prof Ray Forrest, a specialist in Urban Sociology, will also talk about his keen research interests in contemporary urban issues.
