1. Talk on Career Opportunities & Challenges in Greater Bay Area
The SSC cooperated with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Society to launch the talk “Career Opportunities & Challenges in Greater Bay Area” on 4 March. Attracted some 60 students to attend, it aims to familiarise participants with the current development of the Greater Bay Area and the career and entrepreneurial opportunities it has to offer.
2. Visit to Greater Bay Area for Career and Cultural Exposure 2019
In collaboration with the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, the Guangdong Education Association for International Exchange and Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen University, the SSC organised a 3-day-2-night visit to Zhuhai and Guangzhou of the Greater Bay Area for 43 students and staff from 20 to 22 April. It consisted of visits to the 3D Printing Innovation Hub, Guangdong Urban Planning Exhibition Centre, National Supercomputer Centre in Guangzhou, Sun Yat-sen University and some cultural sites, together with a focus talk on the Greater Bay Area.
Besides, students experienced the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and took a ride by the High Speed Rail during the journey. They were expected to witness the current development there, to seize business opportunities as well as to appreciate the Greater Bay Area from a cultural perspective.
3. 2019 “One Hundred Enterprises and One Thousand Persons” Internship Program for Young Students of Hong Kong and Macau in Nansha
The SSC will join in hand with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Society to implement the internship programme this summer. The internship will offer placements from government departments, government-owned enterprises, financial organisations, international groups and local enterprises at Nansha of the Greater Bay Area. It targets to help students set their career goals, gain relevant work experience and establish social networks - enhancing their competitiveness in employment in the future.
