“Joy of Changes” is a collaborative performance by artists, students, and therapists from Lingnan University’s WBL Music and Performing Arts Unit. Blending improvisation, community music, and arts therapy, it creates a shared space of sound and reflection.
Inspired by the I Ching, Carl Jung’s idea of synchronicity, and John Cage’s Music of Changes, the performance explores joy, chance, and connection. Through open, improvised structure, it invites audiences to listen deeply, let go of control, and embrace the unpredictable rhythms of life—fostering calm, presence, and collective wellbeing.

Pandan Quartet from Oberlin Conservatory of Music

The Unit is delighted to welcome the Pandan Quartet , a group formed by current students of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, for a chamber music concert at Lingnan.
The Quartet members, all born and raised in North America, share ethnic roots across various Asian countries. This winter, they have been touring Japan, South Korea, China, and Malaysia—visiting the lands of their ancestors and sharing their music with local communities.
During their stop in Hong Kong, the Pandan Quartet performed for Lingnan students, presenting two iconic string quartet works by Beethoven and Prokofiev, along with a contemporary piece by Franghiz Ali-Zadeh. They also shared reflections on their journey and experiences connecting with audiences across Asia.
Their passion and initiative in creating this self-directed cultural exchange tour are truly inspiring and serve as a meaningful example of cultural sustainability. We wish them every success in the remaining leg of their Asia Tour and hope to welcome them back to Lingnan in the future.
