Dali Yunnan Service-Learning Tour 2026

WBLMP offered the MPA2002 Musicality and Well-being course during the Summer Term of 25/26. One major component of the course was a service-learning study tour to Dali, Yunnan Province. From May 24th to 28th, the group of staff and students exchanged with Dali University and provided service to Dali Secondary Vocational School. 

They also visited various local cultural sites, including exploring Dali Ancient City, experiencing the Yunnan Bai ethnic minority's Three-Course Tea ceremony (an intangible cultural heritage), visiting the Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture Museum, and touring the Erhai Lake ecological corridor and Xizhou Ancient Town. This allowed faculty and students to gain a deeper understanding of the local cultural heritage of "Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Lake, and the beauty of nature." The itinerary combined service-learning with cultural exploration, integrating experiential learning to promote interdisciplinary and intercultural understanding and a sense of well-being through music and expressive arts.
