The third Liberal Arts Forum delves into real-world dilemmas

Lingnan University’s School of Graduate Studies and the Faculty of Education at The University of Hong Kong jointly organised the third Liberal Arts Forum on 10 February. The hybrid event brought together experts from Asia, Europe, Oceania and North America, with over 140 participants addressing key aspects of the ongoing debate.

Discussion topics included the purpose of higher education and “the soul of the university”, as well as the future of liberal arts and STEM in the midst of inevitable changes in society. Besides, its Presidents’ Dialogue shed light on the role and social responsibility of liberal arts education, and the opportunities to complement rather than contend with STEM-driven developments.
