Inauguration ceremony and first forum of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance for Chinese Language Education

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (GHMUA) for Chinese Language Education, organised by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) in collaboration with Lingnan University and Shenzhen University, held its inauguration ceremony on 14 September at EdUHK. The event brought experts and scholars in Chinese language education together from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau to commemorate this significant milestone.

 

The GHMUA for Chinese Language Education is endorsed by the GHMUA Council. The alliance comprises 25 higher education institutions in the region, including The Education University of Hong Kong, Jinan University, Macau University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen University, and Lingnan University. It is dedicated to enhancing communication and collaboration in Chinese language education in the Greater Bay Area, and facilitates the sharing and collective development of resources in alignment with national development strategies.

 

The first forum of the GHMUA for Chinese Language Education, themed “Exchange, Collaboration, and Resource Sharing”, took place on 15 September, focusing on the challenges and opportunities posed by big data and AI technology in Chinese language education in the Greater Bay Area in recent years. It also examined the latest advances in Chinese language education curriculum and teacher training.
