Issue No. 72 Oct 2017
“Carbon Nation” Film Screening, jointly organised by the Core Curriculum and General Education Office and Science Unit of Lingnan University and CNEX Foundation Limited, was held on 12 October. It attracted around 160 participants including students and staff of Lingnan.
“Carbon Nation” documented how people in the US and other countries combat climate changes with today’s renewable energy technologies. Prof Paulina Wong, Assistant Professor of Science Unit, and Mr Terence Tang, Education Manager of The Conservancy Association, were invited to share their insights and ideas about the environmental challenges Hong Kong is now facing and the possible solutions to tackle them. In-depth discussions were generated, leading participants to reflect on the roles of the government and individuals in environmental protection.
