Mental Health First Aid Training

It is an international certificate course originally developed in Australia in 2006. It is a 12-hour basic (face to face) training course that teaches how to help someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, before he or she can obtain professional help.

Hostel Staff Course

12-hour course designed for eligible hostel staff (free of charge) to enhance their knowledge and skills in managing students emotional distress, or crises under the setting of hostel.

Course Outline:

  • To have basic knowledge of: depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance use disorder.
  • To address the possible crisis arising from these mental health problems and proceed with necessary intervention.
  • To provide suitable help for person involved before the situation gets worse on the basis of the five steps
  • To learn about community resources and help the person involved to seek for professional treatment and make use of suitable resources.
