Lingnan University’s “GeoAI Smart Mosquito-Borne Disease Prevention and Control Solution”, invented by Prof Paulina Wong Pui-yun, Head of the Division of Science and Associate Professor (Presidential Early Career Scholar), wins the "AI+ Social Impact Award" at the “AI+ Innovation Awards 2026” presentation ceremony.
Lingnan University’s “GeoAI Smart Mosquito-Borne Disease Prevention and Control Solution”, invented by Prof Paulina Wong Pui-yun, Head of the Division of Science and Associate Professor (Presidential Early Career Scholar), won the AI+ Social Impact Award at the AI+ Innovation Awards 2026 presentation ceremony. This project comprehensively upgrades the mosquito control model through Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) technology, translating cutting-edge academic research into practical solutions that promote community health.

Dr Zhi Shaohua’s team received the Merit Award for AI+ Project of the Year at the AI+ Power Awards 2026.
In addition, Dr Zhi Shaohua, Senior Lecturer of the Wu Jieh Yee School of Interdisciplinary Studies, and her team won the Merit Award for AI+ Project of the Year at the AI+ Power Awards 2026. The invention, “Lightweight Network Hard Drive Developed for People with Disabilities”, is a prime example of how Lingnan leverages AI to advance digital humanities for genuine social impact.
