A strong push for local technology start-ups, backed by generous funding, is being pursued by the government, universities and industry sponsors. Riding the latest digital business bandwagon calls for innovative elements in the BBA curriculum starting from the coming academic year.
  • The BBA Digital Business Major aims to attract high-calibre technology-savvy candidates to apply for senior-year places in the BBA Programme and to meet Hong Kong’s needs for more graduates in digital business.
  • A salient feature of the Digital Business Major is to encourage a culture of “start-ups” and entrepreneurship through contacts with the industry and a curriculum design that culminates in a final year project experience on developing start-up plans.
  • In order to attract high-calibre applicants from outside the traditional business and management study areas, the proposed e-Business stream would offer an attractive choice particularly for technology-savvy individuals with aspirations to engage in business endeavours. These individuals, having diverse backgrounds in science and technology, engineering, arts and design, etc., would fit well into the ideal profile of Lingnan graduates, with strong awareness of cross-disciplinary applications.
