LU Cultural Ambassador Programme 2023/24

Introduction

The aim of the LU Cultural Ambassador Programme is to nurture a group of students interested in exploring and sharing different cultures to be Cultural Ambassadors. The role of the Cultural Ambassadors is to promote cross-cultural appreciation and integration on campus and in student hostels.

 

What could you gain from the Programme?

  • Take part in a wide array of cultural events, workshops and experiences
  • Build friendships and networks with students from different cultural backgrounds
  • Deepen your understanding in different cultures of Hong Kong
  • Develop as a leader with cross-cultural competency

 

Eligibility:

All full-time undergraduate students, including 1-year exchange students are welcome.

 

Programme Structure and Schedule:

Part A – Briefing and Training

  1. Briefing Session at 5 – 6pm on 9 October 2023 (Mon)
  2. Half-day Teambuilding Training at 9:30 – 1:00pm on 14 October 2023 (Sat)

Part B – Engagement and Initiative

  1. Initiative:

    Initiate and organise at least one cultural activity with the team under the “Cultural March of Symphony” series in March 2024

  2. Engagement Activities (elective):

    Attend 2 out of the 6 following cultural activities organised by OSA:

    - International Day on 1 November 2023

    - Ex- Sham Sui Po Service Reservoir Guided Tour in Late October 2023

    - Guided Tour at Kowloon Mosque with Food Tasting Experience on 18 November 2023

    - Thanksgiving Celebrations in November 2023

    - Chinese New Year Carnival in late January 2024

    - Workshop on Traditional Chinese Handicraft in February 2024

 

Appreciation and ILP Units

Upon completion of the Programme, Cultural Ambassadors will be awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and a total of 12 ILP Units (6 Units in Civic Education and Leadership Development and 6 Units in Residential Education).
